REGULATIONS IN REGIONS
I feel as if it may be of some importance to get on a personal level before we talk about penis/penis, vagina/penis, vagina/vagina (and everything in between) sex and sexy stuff. I am a 19 year old woman, who’s grown up in the public school system my entire life.
ABSTINENCE FUNDING PROGRAMS
Introducing the lead role- abstinence funding programs. Role playing a conversation about sex... no sex included. In short, "abstinence-only sex education is a form of sex education that teaches not having sex outside of marriage. It often excludes other types of sexual and reproductive health education, such as birth control and safe sex."
ABSTINENCE ANALYZATION
The money spent on these programs federally and state-wide should be expected to have a quality success rate. Why else would they be pouring buckets of cash into organizations?
ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL
The issue behind abstinence funded programs and sex education in general is the exclusion of certain topics pertaining to some students. Not every child will love the same, feel the same, or want to partake in heterosexual intercourse between cis-male and cis-female...
CALL TO ACTION
Sex ed affects every single one of us in some form. If not you specifically, then somebody around you. And everyone no matter what beliefs, sexuality, or gender, deserves the right to an honest sexual education.
